Hello lovely people and Happy New Year! 2020 was a weird year to say the least. It has become very clear that we don't know what life will throw at us. We do however have a choice about how we choose to move forward.
My intention for this year of blogging (my new years resolution right there!) is to help you to enjoy your life. It’s that simple - and it’s totally possible. So if you want to stop procrastinating, move towards your goals, and start living a life that makes you happy then you are in the right place.
So how do we do this in the midst of a global pandemic, when there is still a lot of uncertainty around?
Well firstly we can focus on what did go well last year.
Did you spend more time outside in nature and enjoy walks?
Did you reconnect with old friends, catch up with family, or even make new friendships in your local neighbourhood?
Did you spend some time by yourself and realise that you are great company?
Focussing on what went well, on the positives in life is important because what we focus on is what we see more of. If you are expecting more positive things to happen, then you will notice more positive things that are already around you.
Here are my top tips to help get this year off to the best start:
- Focus on the good things in your life, however small. Make them your main focus. You could even start a gratitude diary and write down things each day that you are grateful for.
- Watch less news – it is important to know what is going on in the world but if you spend too much time absorbing the news which tends to focus on negative events you will end up with a more negative world view. So be mindful of the amount you are consuming and limit it where possible.
- Surround yourself with positive people. Their joy will rub off on you!
- Be kind to others. Everyone is coping with the current situation in their own way, so be kind to everyone, it will make you feel good.
I would love to be of service to you this year so let me know if there is a topic you would like me to write about. Let’s make this year the year you start living a life you love – and if you need any help with that, then just reach out for a conversation.
With joy and support,
Claire
