By now you are probably familiar with the new trend hitting our streets - to have an attitude of gratitude. I'm here to tell you that it really works.
I have encouraged several of my clients, each morning when they get up, to write down three things they are grateful for. This has several benefits;
1, You feel good because you realise your life is not so bad after all.
2 You start the day in a really positive way. When you do this, you are more likely to notice all the other great things you come across you each day.
Try this if you don't believe me..
Spend 1 minute looking around the room finding all the things you can see that are green. Do that now before reading on.
Now, close your eyes and name anything you can think of that is yellow.
Hard, isn't it? That is because you were not looking for yellow things. The same goes for when you are buying a new car you suddenly start to see the one you like everywhere.
3, You start to believe how worthy you are of the great things you have and trust that other amazing things that are coming your way.
So, what 3 things you are grateful for today?
It's great to see people joining the community and thanks Andy for sharing your thoughts, you're right, it is such a good habit to get into - let me know how you get on.
Everyone else, let me know what you are grateful for today <3
Nice post! I particularly like the idea of creating a routine that you do every morning. Perhaps if this can become a habit then I will be able to do this each day without even having to constantly make an effort to rememeber to do it. I was reading 'The Power of Habit' and it talks about that kind of thing, turning your routines into automatic behaviours. It would be great to integrate all sorts of good habits for positive thinking into our lives!
3 things that I am grateful for:
1. My family (the love and support they give me)
2. My health (we only seem to think about our health when we are less than 100% healthy, so…
I am grateful for:
1 - The beauty of nature
2 - Storytellers
3 - Fresh air
